The Sonnet eGFX Breakaway™ 750ex is a family of solutions that allow you to connect a PCIe 3.0 x16 card to a Thunderbolt™ 4 or Thunderbolt™ 3 port. The boxes support any PCIe card and are designed specifically for the most demanding AMD and NVIDIA® graphics cards.

The eGFX Breakaway Box 750ex features two 8-pin (6+2-pin) auxiliary power connectors and supports cards requiring a 375W power allocation (equivalent to a 600W recommended system power supply). This exceeds the requirements of nearly every compatible GPU card.

Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 3 connectors provide eco-friendly power management features that help save energy when the computer is not in use. The Sonnettech eGFX Box, like all Thunderbolt devices, powers on when the computer is running. This allows the Breakaway Box to power off and conserve energy when the computer is shut down, disconnected, or put to sleep.

Additionally, the device continuously provides sufficient charging power for most computers, even when the computer is asleep or turned off.

Thunderbolt 3 Power Delivery (PD) allows you to power and charge laptops with 100W of power, which is very useful for fast laptop charging.
