Easy access to the Mac Studio and PCIe
expansion module The xMac Studio is a rugged, 3U steel enclosure designed for 19″ rack mounting. The enclosure secures the Mac Studio with the optional PCIe expansion module in the rack, placing the Mac Studio behind a quick-release front panel. Convenient front-panel operation allows you to power on the Mac Studio using a dedicated front-panel power button. The enclosure allows you to connect USB devices via a 4-port USB-A hub and provides access to the computer’s front ports and SD card slots. When equipped with the Echo III or Echo I PCIe card expansion module, three wing screws securing the rear panel allow for easy removal and access to the module and PCIe cards from the front without removing the front panel. The xMac Studio design allows for connecting and disconnecting cables without having to remove the Mac Studio from the enclosure.
An opening on top of the xMac Studio ensures unobstructed wireless signal access. The xMac Studio is designed to allow normal operation of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless networks in most configurations (depending on the type and position within the rack), so you can use wireless devices and iOS® device control apps.
Designed for Cool Operation Supports the Mac Studio thermal
design xMac Studio protects your Mac Studio from overheating by facilitating the recirculation of hot air within the rack. Thanks to its thoughtful design, the Mac Studio stays just as cool in a rack as it does on a desk. Ventilation openings on the front panel of the enclosure and a sealed compartment beneath the Mac Studio allow the computer to draw in cool air through the base, while the fully open rear allows warm air to be expelled smoothly from the back.
SSD
Storage Space Securely mount up to two Thunderbolt or USB SSDs inside the Mac Studio. The Mac Studio provides space underneath the computer for two Thunderbolt or USB SSDs (sold separately) up to 3.2 inches wide and 0.75 inches tall. Simply remove the rear access panel, apply the included adhesive magnet to the bottom of the SSDs, insert the SSDs and connect them to the computer, then reinstall the panel. The space is also suitable for other slim bus-powered devices.
